Nothing But Nets Website gets nominated for Webby Award 2007

10 April 2007, New York

The 11th Annual Webby Awards unveiled their nominees for best websites, videos and ads of the year of 2007 - and the Nothing But Nets campaign's website is one of them!

Praised as the "Oscar of the Internet" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring websites, online film and video, interactive advertising, and mobile content.

Unlike other awards shows, the Webby Awards presents two honours in each category: the Webby Award, which is chosen by a jury, and the Webby People's Voice Award, whose winner is determined by the online community.

Nothing But Nets, whose website has been nominated in the Charitable Organizations/Non-Profit category, is a campaign aimed at preventing malaria through the financing and distribution of bed nets in Africa. In 2006 alone, almost 20 million bed nets were distributed in 10 African countries.

Nothing But Nets being one of the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships' (UNFIP) flagship projects, we are very proud of the excellent work of the United Nations Foundation and its various partners involved, which led to this distinguished nomination.
