Pictures by Children of Goa, India

Paintings Through the Eyes of Children

After the Tsunami, the United Nations Women’s Guild, received four hundred children’s paintings done by the Children of Goa, India from Dr. Lyra Srinavasan, Sarar International. The paintings were widely admired by the United Nations community. They showed both skills and compassion.

Sales of a portion of the paintings have generated over one thousand US Dollars. This money will contribute to the Children’s Emergency Relief Fund that UNWG has recently created in response to the increasing needs of children affected by emergency situations and disasters such as Tsunami.

The UNWG since its inception in 1948 has worked tirelessly to raise funds to benefit children regardless of gender, ethnic or religious background. Please be assured that we will adhere to the same principles when disbursing the Emergency Relief Fund.

There are still many paintings available for sale for approximately US$20 each in the UNWG Office on the 7th Floor of the DC1 Building, Room DC1-0775.

We look forward to your continuing support in our compassionate struggle to help needy children around the world.
