WIPO - WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ORGANIZATION
WIPO, is dedicated to the promotion of the protection of intellectual property throughout the world through cooperation among States; and for the administration of various multilateral treaties dealing with the legal and administrative aspects of intellectual property.
Intellectual property includes industrial property, chiefly in inventions, trademarks, industrial designs, and appellations of origin; and copyright property, chiefly in literary, musical, artistic, photographic and audiovisual works.

A substantial part of the activities and the resources of WIPO is devoted to development cooperation with developing countries.

UNICT - UN INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES TASK FORCE
In March 2001, the United Nations Economic and Social Council requested the Secretary-General to establish an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Task Force. This initiative is intended to lend a truly global dimension to the multitude of efforts to bridge the global digital divide, foster digital opportunity and thus firmly put ICT at the service of development for all.
