the Council of Europe on the issue
of political prisoners in Armenia
and Azerbaijan.
His legislative experience includes
work on various committees concerned
with Swiss law reform. Internationally,
served as expert for the reform of
criminal procedure in Bulgaria, Russian
Federation, Kosovo and Tajikistan.
Other academic experience includes
Séminaire extérieur
of the Hague Academy, Dakar in 1981;
general course on human rights at
the European University Institute,
Florence, in 1997; visiting professorships
at the Universities of California
in 1999 and Saint Louis in 2000, as
well as numerous guest lectureships.
Further experience includes administration
of the Swiss Peace Corps in 1966-1967
and investigation into suspect payments
to Northrop Corporation in 1975.
Publications:
Author of 6 books in English and German and of approximately
100 articles in law journals in German, English, French,
Portuguese and Italian.
