Mladen Naletilic was found guilty of two counts of crimes against humanity, three counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and three counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions. He was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment. He filed his notice of appeal against the Trial Chamber's judgement on 29 April 2003.
Vinko Martinovic was found guilty of three counts of crimes against humanity, two counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and four counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions. He was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment. He filed his notice of appeal against the Trial Chamber's judgement on 29 April 2003. The Prosecution filed its appeal on 1 May 2003.

Found guilty by virtue of his individual and superior criminal responsibility on two counts of crimes against humanity and two counts of violations of the laws and customs of war by Trial Chamber II on 15 March 2002 and sentenced to seven and half years' imprisonment. Milorad Krnojelac and the Prosecution filed a Notice of Appeal against the Trial Chamber's Judgement on 12 April 2002 and 15 April 2002 respectively. On 17 September 2003, the Appeals Chamber revised the sentence and raised it to 15 years' imprisonment.

Hazim Delic, Esad Landzo and Zdravko Mucic - the "Celebici" case (IT-96-21): Judgement on 9 October 2001
10 March 1997 - 20 February 2001 - 142 trial days

Zdravko Mucic: found guilty by virtue of his individual and superior criminal responsibility on six counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and five counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and sentenced to seven years' imprisonment by Trial Chamber II on 16 November 1998. Counsel for Mucic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 27 November 1998. The Prosecution filed a notice of appeal against the sentence on 26 November 1998. On 20 February 2001, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the cumulative convictions of all counts on violations of the laws or customs of war and remitted the remaining sentences to a Trial Chamber for possible adjustment. On 9 October 2001, Trial Chamber III sentenced Mucic to nine years' imprisonment.
On 8 April 2003, the Appeals Chamber dismissed his appeal against the sentence. Zdravko Mucic was released on 18 July 2003.
Hazim Delic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on seven counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and seven counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment by Trial Chamber II on 16 November 1998. Counsel for Delic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 23 November 1998. The Prosecution filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement on 26 November 1998. On 20 February 2001, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the cumulative convictions of all counts on violations of the laws or customs of war and remitted the remaining sentences to a Trial Chamber for possible adjustment. On 9 October 2001, Trial Chamber III sentenced Delic to eighteen years' imprisonment. On 10 October 2001, Hazim Delic filed his notice of appeal against the Trial Chamber's Sentencing Judgement. On 15 January 2002, Hazim Delic filed a request for review of proceedings and to quash his conviction on count 3 of the Indictment, a Grave Breach punishable under article 2(a) of the Statute (wilful killing). On 25 April 2002, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the request.
He is awaiting transfer to a State to serve his sentence.
On 8 April 2003, the Appeals Chamber dismissed his appeal against the sentence and rejected his application to have his appeal against conviction reconsidered. On 9 July 2003, Hazim Delic was transferred to Finland to serve his sentence.
Esad Landzo: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on nine counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and nine counts of violations of the laws or customs of war, and sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment by Trial Chamber II on 16 November 1998. Counsel for Landzo filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 1 December 1998. On 20 February 2001, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the cumulative convictions of all counts on violations of the laws or customs of war and remitted the remaining sentences to a Trial Chamber for possible adjustment. On 9 October 2001, Trial Chamber III sentenced Landzo to fifteen years' imprisonment.
On 8 April 2003, the Appeals Chamber dismissed his appeal against the sentence. On 9 July 2003, Esad Landzo was transferred to Finland to serve his sentence.

Biljana Plavsic (IT-00-39 & 40) : Sentencing Judgement on 27 February 2003
On 2 October 2002, Biljana Plavsic pleaded guilty to one count of persecutions on political, racial and religious grounds, a crime against humanity. The Trial Chamber rendered its Sentencing Judgement on 27 February 2003. Biljana Plavsic was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment. On 26 June 2003, she was transferred to Sweden to serve the remainder of her sentence.

Milan Simic (IT-95-9/2): Judgement on 17 October 2002
10 September 2001 - 22 July 2002 - 84 trial days
Sentenced on 17 October 2002 to 5 years' imprisonment for two counts of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 15 May 2002. Simic is awaiting transfer to a State to serve the remainder of his sentence.

Dragoljub Kunarac, Radomir Kovac (IT-96-23) and Zoran Vukovic (IT-96-23/1): Judgement on 12 June 2002

On 12 June 2002, the Appeals Chamber affirmed the sentences of de three co-accused.

Dragoljub Kunarac: found guilty by virtue of his individual and superior criminal responsibility on five counts of crimes against humanity and seven counts of violations of the laws or customs of war by Trial Chamber II on 22 February 2001 and sentenced to 28 years' imprisonment. On 12 December 2002, Dragoljub Kunarac was transferred to Germany to serve his sentence.
Radomir Kovac: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on two counts of crimes against humanity and two counts of violations of the laws or customs of war by Trial Chamber II on 22 February 2001 and sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment. On 28 November 2002, Radomir Kovac was transferred to Norway to serve his sentence.  
Zoran Vukovic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on two counts of crimes against humanity and two counts of violations of the laws or customs of war by Trial Chamber II on 22 February 2001 and sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment. On 28 November 2002, Zoran Vukovic was transferred to Norway to serve his sentence.

Milojica Kos (IT-98-30/1): Judgement on 2 November 2001
28 February 2000 - (Adjourned from 6 March 2000 to 2 May 2000) - 19 July 2001

Found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on 1 count of crime against humanity and 2 counts of violations of the laws or customs of war by Trial Chamber I on 2 November 2001 and sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment. He filed his notice of appeal against the Trial Chamber's judgement on 16 November 2001. On 14 May 2002, Milojica Kos withdrew his appeal from the Trial Chamber Judgement of 2 November 2001. He was released on 31 July 2002.

Dusko Sikirica, Damir Dosen and Dragan Kolundzija (IT-95-8): Judgement on 13 November 2001
30 October 2000 - 10 October 2001 - 52 trial days

Dusko Sikirica: sentenced on 13 November 2001 to 15 years' imprisonment for one count of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 19 September 2001.
On 10 May 2002, Dusko Sikirica was transferred to Austria to serve his sentence.  
Damir Dosen: sentenced on 13 November 2001 to 5 years' imprisonment for one count of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 19 September 2001.
On 10 May 2002, Damir Dosen was transferred to Austria to serve his sentence. He was released on 28 February 2003.  
Dragan Kolundzija: sentenced on 13 November 2001 to 3 years' imprisonment for one count of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 4 September 2001. He was released on 6 December 2001.
Drago Josipovic and Vladimir Santic (IT-95-16): Judgement on 23 October 2001
17 August 1998 - 11 November 1999 - 114 trial days
Drago Josipovic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on three counts of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II on 14 January 2000 and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment. On 31 January 2000 the Prosecution filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence. The defense also filed a notice of appeal on 26 January 2000. On 23 October 2001, the Appeals Chamber partially allowed his appeal and reduced his sentence from 15 to 12 years' imprisonment.
On 9 April 2002, Drago Josipovic was transferred to Spain to serve his sentence.
On 30 July 2002, Drago Josipovic filed a Request for Review. On 7 March 2003, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the request.
Vladimir Santic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on three counts of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II on 14 January 2000 and sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment. Counsel for Santic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on the 24 January 2000. The Prosecution filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 31 January 2000. On 23 October 2001, the Appeals Chamber partially allowed his appeal and reduced his sentence from 25 to 18 years' imprisonment.
On 11 April 2002, Vladimir Santic was transferred to Spain to serve his sentence.  
Stevan Todorovic (IT-95-9/1): Judgement on 31 July 2001
Sentenced on 31 July 2001 to 10 years' imprisonment for the one count of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 24 January 2001. 
On 11 December 2001, Stevan Todorovic was transferred to Spain to serve his sentence.

Goran Jelisic (IT-95-10): Judgement on 5 July 2001
30 November 1998 - 19 October 1999 - 27 trial days 
Acquitted on 19 October 1999 on one count of genocide, but sentenced to 40 years’ imprisonment on 14 December 1999 for the 31 counts of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws or customs of war to which he had pleaded guilty on 29 October 1998. Counsel for Jelisic filed a notice of appeal against sentence and Judgement on 15 December 1999. The Prosecution filed a notice of appeal on 21 October 1999. On 5 July 2001, the Appeals Chamber affirmed the sentence of 40 years' imprisonment. On 7 January 2002, Goran Jelisic filed a Request for Review of his sentence. On 2 May 2002, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the request.
On 29 May 2003, Goran Jelisic was transferred to Italy to serve his sentence.

Anto Furundzija (IT-95-17/1): Judgement on 21 July 2000
8 June 1998-21 July 2000 - 10 trial days
Found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on two counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment by Trial Chamber II on 10 December 1998. The Defence filed a notice of appeal on 22 December 1998. On 21 July 2000, the Appeals Chamber dismissed his appeal and affirmed the conviction and sentence handed down by the Trial Chamber. 
On 22 September 2000, Anto Furundzija was transferred to Finland to serve his sentence.

Zlatko Aleksovski (IT-95-14/1): Judgement on 24 March 2000
6 January 1998-23 March 1999 - 43 trial days
Found guilty by virtue of both his individual and superior criminal responsibility on one count of a violation of the laws or customs of war and sentenced to two years’ and six months’ imprisonment by Trial Chamber I bis on 7 May 1999. Entitled to credit for time served for a period of two years, 10 months and 29 days, therefore the Trial Chamber ordered his immediate release, notwithstanding any appeal.
Both Counsel for Aleksovski and the Prosecution filed appeals against the Judgement on 17 My 1999, the Prosecution appealed against the sentence on 19 May 1999.
On 9 February 2000, the Appeals Chamber issued an oral Judgement dismissing all grounds of appeal filed by Aleksovski and allowing the Prosecution appeal against sentence, but reserving its Judgement on the Prosecution appeal.
On 24 March 2000, the Appeals Chamber issued its written judgement increasing the sentence to seven years' imprisonment.
On 21 September 2000, Zlatko Aleksovski was transfered to Finland to serve his sentence.
He was released on 14 November 2001.

Dusko Tadic (IT-94-1): Judgement on 26 January 2000
7 May 1996 - 28 November 1996 - 79 trial days
Found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on five counts of violations of the laws or customs of war and six counts of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II, on 7 May 1997. Sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on 14 July 1997. Both Defence (3 June 1997) and Prosecution (6 June 1997) appealed the Judgement. The Defence also appealed the sentence on 11 August 1997.
On 15 July 1999, the Appeals Chamber found the accused additionally guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on nine additional counts (seven counts of grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, one count of a violation of the laws or customs of war and one count of crimes against humanity).
The issue of sentencing for the additional counts was referred to a Trial Chamber designated by the President. On 11 November 1999, Tadic was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. The defence filed an appeal against the sentence on 25 November 1999. 
Joining the appeals against the sentence of 14 July 1997 and that of 11 November 1999, on 26 January 2000 the Appeals Chamber reduced the sentence to a maximum of 20 years imprisonment.
On 31 November 2000, Tadic was transferred to Germany to serve his sentence.
On 19 June 2001, Dusko Tadic filed a request for review of the complete case and review of the Trial Chamber and Appeals Chamber proceedings. On 30 July 2002, the Appeals Chamber dismissed the request.

Drazen Erdemovic (IT-96-22): Judgement on 5 March 1998
Sentenced to 10 years's imprisonment on the 29 November 1996 for one count of crimes against humanity to which he pleaded guilty on 31 May 1996. On 23 December 1996, counsel for Drazen Erdemovic lodged an appeal against the Sentencing Judgement of 29 November 1996. The Appeals Chamber rendered its Judgement on 7 October 1997. The majority held that Drazen Erdemovic's plea at his initial appearance had not been informed and thus remitted the case to a new Trial Chamber in order that the accused be given an opportunity to re-plead. On 14 January 1998, Drazen Erdemovic changed his plea to one of guilty with respect to the count of murder as a violation of the laws or customs of war. The Prosecutor withdrew the alternative count of murder as a crime against humanity.
On 5 March 1998, the Trial Chamber sentenced Drazen Erdemovic to 5 years' imprisonment.
In August 1998, Drazen Erdemovic was transfered to Norway to serve his sentence.
He was released in August 2000.

Zoran Kupreskic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on one count of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II on 14 January 2000 and sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. Counsel for Zoran Kupreskic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 26 January 2000. On 23 October 2001, the Appeals Chamber found him not guilty, reversed his conviction and ordered his immediate release.
Mirjan Kupreskic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on one count of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II on 14 January 2000 and sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment. Counsel for Mirjan Kupreskic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 28 January 2000. On 23 October 2001, the Appeals Chamber found him not guilty, reversed his conviction and ordered his immediate release.
Vlatko Kupreskic: found guilty by virtue of his individual criminal responsibility on one count of crimes against humanity by Trial Chamber II on 14 January 2000 and sentenced to six years’ imprisonment. Counsel for Vlatko Kupreskic filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement and sentence on 25 January 2000. On 23 October 2001, the Appeals Chamber found him not guilty, reversed his conviction and ordered his immediate release.

Zejnil Delalic - the "Celebici" case (IT-96-21): Judgement on 21 February 2001
10 March 1997 - 20 February 2001 - 142 trial days
Found not guilty of 11 counts of grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and violations of the laws or custom of war by Trial Chamber II on 16 November 1998 and immediately released. The Prosecution filed a notice of appeal against the Judgement on 26 November 1998. On 20 February 2001, the Appeals Chamber affirmed the acquittal.
