Jim Landale, Spokesman for Registry
and Chambers, made the following statement:
Good afternoon,
First I would like to welcome here at
the briefing some members of the Serbian
Youth Initiative for Human Rights’ Justice
Advocates Programme, who are with us
at the ICTY this week and are being hosted
by the Tribunal's Outreach Programme.
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights,
an NGO from Serbia and Montenegro, is
creating a network of young people from
Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo
and Serbia and Montenegro who are interested
in human rights through establishing
this Justice Advocates programme. The
programme is designed to, among other
things, promote knowledge about and support
for international justice, including
the ICTY and the International Criminal
Court (ICC). The Justice Advocates are
at the Tribunal all week, meeting and
hearing presentations from various Tribunal
officials, as well as following the court
proceedings.
Next, I would like to remind you that
the judgement in The Prosecutor v.
Limaj, Bala and Musliu will be rendered
this afternoon at 3 p.m. in Courtroom
I.
The sentencing judgement in the case
against Miroslav Bralo will be rendered
on Wednesday 7 December at 8 a.m. in
Courtroom I.
There will be an appeal hearing in the
Momir Nikolic case on Monday 5 December
starting at 9 a.m. in Courtroom I.
Finally, two new ad litem judges
will be sworn in this Friday. They are
Judge Frank Hoepfel of Austria and Judge
Janet Nosworthy of Jamaica.
