PLENARY

 7th meeting

Statements were made by the representatives of the Sudan, Turkey, Thailand, Mexico, Bangladesh, Madagascar, Switzerland, Swaziland, Malaysia, Malawi, Samoa, Qatar, Oman, Cape Verde, Niger, Viet Nam, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Statements were made by the representatives of the United Nations Children's Fund, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and the Carribean Community.

Statements were also made by representatives of non­governmental organizations

8th meeting

Statements were made by the representatives of Denmark, Jordan, Georgia, Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Russian Federation, Uruguay, Haiti, Iraq, Yemen, Belarus, Cyprus, Bahrain, the Republic of the Congo, Angola, Burundi, Ecuador, Botswana, Monaco and Uganda

A statement was made by the representative of the International federation of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent Societies,

Statements were also made by representatives of non­governmental organizations

A statement was made by the representative of the Secretary General od the United Nations.

The Conference elected Dominica and Nepal as members of the Credential Committe in place of Barbados and Bhutan which were not in a position to serve in the Committee. As a result, in the composition of the Credentials Committee is now as follows: Argentina, Chine, Cote d'Ivoire, Dominica, Nepal, Norway, Russian Federation, United States of America and Zambia.
