The programme aimed to reduce violence and promote a culture of peace in Sao Paulo. Through a comprehensive set of interventions in the areas of education, health care and community participation, networks of participants designed action plans to address issues related to gender, race, ethnicity, youth and local development. As a result, integrated public policies based on the human security approach were developed, resulting in greater impact and improved relations between communities and the Government.
