
Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues
Third Session - New York, 10 - 21 May 2004
The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues will hold its third session from 10 to 21 May 2004 at United Nations Headquarters. The session will be opened by the Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly and the President of the Economic and Social Council, together with an indigenous elder and an indigenous woman, on Monday, 10 May 2004, at 12 noon in Conference Room 2.
A high-level panel and dialogue on Indigenous women, to be held on Monday, 10 May 2004, at 3 p.m. in Conference Room 2, will be addressed by Mrs. Njuma Ekundanayo, Vice-Chairperson of the Permanent Forum; Mrs. Kyung-wha Kang, Chairperson of the Commission on the Status of Women; Mrs. Noeli Pocaterra, the Second Vice-President of the National Assembly of Venezuela; Mrs. Mary Robinson, Chairperson of the Council of Women World Leaders, Executive Director of the Ethical Globalization Initiative, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and former President of Ireland; and Ms. Stella Tamang, Chairperson of the International Indigenous
Women.s Caucus. The panel will be chaired by Mr. Ole Henrik Magga.
