Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research

The "Holocaust and the United Nations" outreach programme and the Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research work together to assist United Nations Member States in the adoption of national educational curriculum on the Holocaust. The two organizations also support each other's public information activities designed to encourage Holocaust remembrance and education by civil society groups in order to help to prevent future acts of genocide. The Task Force, established in 1998, has now 24 member countries. It consists of representatives of government, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations. The United Nations Department of Public Information is a permanent observer at the Task Force meetings and plays an active role on the Special Working Group on the Implementation of Holocaust Remembrance Days as well as the Subcommittee on the Holocaust and Other Genocides.
