NOTE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE SPOKESPERSON OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The President of the General-Assembly, H.E. Dr. Ali Abdussalam Treki, is deeply saddened by the heavy loss of life and destruction caused by the natural disasters that occured in Indonesia, Samoa, Tonga and American Samoa.

The President of the General Assembly sends his prayers and condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. He also calls on the United Nations system and the international community to spare no effort in assisting the affected populations.
