STATEMENT ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE SPOKESPERSON
OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
On meeting the Foreign Minister of Honduras
The President of the General Assembly met today with H.E. Milton Jimenez Puerto, the Foreign Minister of Honduras. The President was briefed on the social and economic reforms undertaken by the Government of Honduras. The Foreign Minister also expressed the Government’s continued commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights in his country. The President of the General Assembly commended Honduras for its efforts in this regard and for its declared commitment to progress on economic and social reforms as well as on the human rights agenda. The President also thanked the Foreign Minister for his country’s support of the work of the General Assembly, in particular for the efforts done by Honduras as one of the Vice-Presidents of the 62nd session.
