Press briefing on climate change
Tuesday, 31 July, 1 p.m., United Nations, Room S-226

James E. Rogers, Chairman and CEO, Duke Energy; Sunita Narain, Director of India’s Centre for Science and Environment; and Sir Nicholas Stern, London School of Economics and advisor on climate change to British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, will brief correspondents on the occasion of the General Assembly session on climate change (31 July-1 August).

Mr. Rogers has testified before the US Senate calling for a comprehensive emissions cap and trade program, and a clear domestic regulation to support private sector investment in clean energy technologies. Ms. Narain has championed action on climate change in the South and called for an appropriate global framework to increase financing and technology transfers to help developing countries adapt to the impacts of climate change. Sir Nicholas will set out his vision to achieve this through an equitable global deal to address climate change over the long-term.
