Yahia Bouadellaoui is a senior advisor in many IT for development related projects, water resources development & management and environmental impact assessment. His field of intervention covered: impact assessment, Water and nuclear power regulatory framework formulation and public private partnership.
He held several technical and managerial positions in the public and the private sectors.
He is currently Advisor to the Prime Minister of Morocco dealing with energy and its enabling technologies portfolio. Yahia was the Representative of Morocco at the UN/ECOSOC Commission on Science & Technology for Development (UNCSTD) with a mission to pursuing technology development and capacity building for competitiveness in a digital society and enabling developed countries to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Since 2000, he is also representing the Kingdom of Morocco in the International Water Nuclear Desalination Advisory Group within the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA- INDAG) assessing the techno-economic feasibility and the socio-environment impact of novel technology and their contribution to a sustainable development .
Yahia held the position of Chief of Cabinet for the Deputy Minister in charge of IT& Post between 1998 and 2000. He led, at the national level, and coordinated the Moroccan IT strategy Roadmap formulation and monitored with the related bodies its implementation. He was actively involved in the telecommunication liberalization process. At the international level, he coordinated the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Y2K readiness action plan. He was a member of the UN_ ICC for Y2K issue Steering Committee.
He is a senior Consultant with the UNDP Regional Program ICTDAR dealing with the use of ICT for Development in the Arab Region. As such he is involved in Youth empowerment, support to SME’s, Integration of visually impaired and e-governance issues.
Yahia is professor of Geosciences at the Forestry and Natural Resources Department at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat. He holds joined Doctorat es Sciences in Geosciences from the University Mohammed V. of Rabat and the University of Arizona, a third cycle Doctorate in economic geology from University Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris, and a Bachelor of Sciences from University Mohammed V, Rabat.
