President Kavan discusses Middle East issues with Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister of Israel
17th September - Leading the discussion were the latest events concerning Iraq. President Kavan acknowledged the pressure put on Iraq by Arab countries resulting in the return of UN inspectors. Foreign Minister Peres informed President Kavan of Israel's skepticism about the declaration and its disbelief in the Hussein regime's promises.
