Meeting with Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Kassymzhomart Tokaev
13 September - In his meeting with GA President Kavan, F.M. Tokaev underlined the increasing importance of the region due to military activities in Afghanistan. He said Kazakhstan supported international operations there by providing an airport base. Also discussed was the rehabilitation of the former nuclear test field in Semipalatinsk with help from the UN and international donors.
