ARRIVES IN ACCRA Dr. Han Seung-soo arrived in Accra last night, Wednesday, 10 April 2002, for a three-day official visit as part of his tour of four West African states. Briefing the media at the Kotoka International Airport, Dr. Han noted the contributions of Ghana to the affairs of the United Nations, especially in the area of peacekeeping. He lauded Ghana’s smooth transition of Government and its economic development. Dr. Han mentioned the good diplomatic relations between his country, South Korea, and Ghana and hoped these would be strengthened and deepened. Dr. Han this morning, Thursday, 11 April 2002, paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Dr. Kwame Addo-Kufuor. Welcoming him, Dr. Addo-Kufuor said Ghana will continue to co-operate with the United Nations to maintain world peace and security. Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hackman Owusu-Agyeman, who led the delegation welcoming Dr. Han, first congratulated him on his election to the high office of President of the UN General Assembly. He mentioned the contributions of the Ghana Armed Forces to United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide and pledged Ghana’s continued participation in UN peacekeeping efforts to maintain world stability.
