Dr. Han has sent letters to all missions informing them that the emergency special session will take place tomorrow

In letters dated 3 May addressed to the President of the General Assembly, South Africa and the Sudan have requested a resumption of the tenth emergency special session to consider agenda item 5, entitled "Illegal Israeli actions in Occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory". South Africa and the Sudan sent the letters in their capacity as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement and Chair of the Arab Group respectively.

In response to this request, Dr. Han has sent letters to all missions informing them that the emergency special session will take place tomorrow at 10.30 AM. Consultations are also going on regarding a draft resolution which is expected to be finalized some time this afternoon.
 
In the afternoon, Dr. Han met with the Bureau of the Open-ended Working Group on the Question of Equitable Representation on and Increase in the Membership of the Security Council and Other Matters related to the Security Council.

Late in the afternoon, Dr. Han met with Special Representative of Secretary-General for Sierra Leone, H. E. Ambassador Oluyemi Adeniji.

Dr. Han received a report on the preparation for the Special Session on Children.
