General Assembly plenary continued today
3 December 2001


Friday afternoon, after the representative of Ukraine had spoken on the item the Situation in the Middle East, the right of reply was exercised seven times by four Member States. The discussion on the issue continued this morning and the General Assembly first adopted the draft resolution on Jerusalem with 130 in favour,2 against and 10 abstentions. It then adopted the draft resolution on Syrian Golan with 90 in favour, 5 against and 54 abstentions.

As the Second and Fifth Committees will not be able to finish their work before the scheduled recess date, 11 December, the General Assembly has decided that the new recess date will be 21 December.
