had a meeting of the General Committee; General Debate continued today
Dr. Han had a meeting of the General Committee. The General Committee decided to recommend to the General Assembly that sub-item (f) of agenda item 21 (Cooperation between the United Nations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union) be also allocated to the Sixth Committee, for the sole purpose of considering the question of granting of observer status to the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the General Assembly. General Debate continued today with Dr. Han presiding. The statements were made from Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Slovakia, Israel, Uzbekistan, Guyana, Nigeria, Comoros, Yemen, Angola, Congo, Kazakhstan, Sudan and Singapore in the morning. Dr. Han had courtesy calls by the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, H. E. Mr. Mikhail Khovostov, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, H. E. Mr. Mohamed Benaissa, the Foreign Minister of the Slovak Republic, H. E. Mr. Eduard Kukan, the High Commissioner for Refugees of the UNHCR, Mr. Ruud Lubbers, the Foreign Minister of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, H. E. Ms. Inlinka Mitreva, the Foreign Minister of the Union of Myanmar, H. E. Mr. U Win Aung, the Foreign Minister of Cuba, H. E. Mr. Felipe Perez Roque, the Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (U. S. Department of State), Mr. Lorne Craner, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Moldova, H. E. Mr. Nicolae Dudau and the Foreign Minister of Uruguay, H. E. Mr. Didier Opertti. Dr. Han met with the Foreign Minister of Panama, H. E. Dr. Jose Miguel Aleman in the afternoon. General Debate continued
in the afternoon. The statements were made from Bulgaria, Panama, Lesotho,
Central African Republic, Barbados, Grenada, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Saint
Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Papua New Guinea, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea
