presided over the opening of the fourth day of the General Debate Dr. Han presided over the opening of the fourth day of the General Debate. Statements were made from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, El Salvador, Nepal, Senegal, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Cameron, Chad, Iraq, Syrian Arab Republic, Namibia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Vanuatu in the morning. Dr. Han met with the Foreign Minister of Spain, H. E. Mr. Josep Pique. Luncheon was followed hosted by the Permanent Representative of New Zealand with the Permanent Representatives of Australia and Canada. In the afternoon, General Debate continued with Dr. Han presiding. The statements were made from Somalia, Solomon Islands, Kyrgyzstan, Botswana, Armenia, Togo, San Marino, Myanmar, Benin, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Liberia, Malawi, Bhutan and Afghanistan. Dr. Han met with delegation of the American Jewish Committee. They exchanged their views and opinions on the issues of mutual interest. Then Dr. Han had a meeting with Rio-Troika group consisting of Foreign Ministeries of Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica which was joined by Foreign Ministry of El Salvador. They exchanged their views and opinions of mutual interest. Dr. Han received courtesy calls by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, H. E. Mr. Simeon Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Croatia, H. E. Mr. Tonino Picula, the Foreign Minister of Israel, H. E. Mr. Shimon Peres, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, H. e. Mr. Jan Kavan, the Foreign Minister of the Gambia, H. E. Mr. Baboucarr-Blaise I. Jagne and the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H. E. Dr. Kamal Kharrazi. |
