General Debate continued today with the President presiding 11 November 2001 In the morning, Dr. Han had a breakfast meeting with the Foreign Minister of Poland, H. E. Mr. Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz. General Debate continued today with Dr. Han presiding. The statements were made from the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Uganda, the Democratic republic of the Congo, the Republic of Mauritius, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Finland, Italy, Djibouti, Gabon and Palestine in the morning meeting. Dr. Han had a meeting with the President of the Palestinian National Authority and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, H. E. Mr. Yasser Arafat. They exchanged the views and perspectives about the current situation of the Middle East and areas for the future cooperation. In the afternoon, Dr. Han attended the Memorial Service for the World Trade Center attack victims two months after the attack. President of the United States, H. E. Mr. George W. Bush, Secretary General, H. E. Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary of State Mr. Colin L. Powell and the New York City Mr. Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani were at the World Trade Center site for a service with Dr. Han. General Debate resumed at 3:00pm with Dr. Han presiding. The statements were made from the Republic of Guatemala, the Independent state of Samoa, the State of Kuwait, the Principality of Monaco, Japan, Norway, Mauritania, Portugal, Ecuador, Algeria, Cambodia, Madagascar, Côte D’Ivoire and Oman.
