The President today presided over open-ended informal/informals of the Plenary on the revitalization of the General Assembly; improving the efficiency of the General Assembly. The President had sent a letter, dated 30 July, in connection to the revitalization process to all Permanent Missions and Permanent Observer Missions of the United Nations. Also the Open-ended Ad Hoc working Group on the Causes of Conflict and Promotion of Durable Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa met today with Mr. Holkeri presiding. The discussion on today's meeting focused on how to structure the report of the Working Group and the future of the monitoring mechanism.
