Mr. Holkeri today presided over meeting of Open-ended Ad Hoc Working Group on the Causes of Conflict and Promotion of Durable Peace and Sustainable Development in Africa. Before the meeting the President met with H.E. Mr. Shamshad Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan and H.E. Mr. Inocencio Arias, Permanent Representative of Spain, Vice-Chairpersons of the Group, to prepare the meeting.

The President discussed issues related to resolution on Secretary-General's Report on conflict prevention on two separate meetings today. First, the President met with Deputy Permanent Representative of India, Mr. Satyabrata Pal. Later he met with representatives of the Premanent Mission of Egypt.

The President today attended two receptions. The first one was to say goodbye to H.E. Ms. Penny Wensley, Permanent Representative of Australia and Mr. Stuart McCosker. The other reception was held on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Morocco and hosted by H.E. Mr. Mohamed Bennouna, Permanent Representative of Kingdom of Morocco.
