The President attended a luncheon, hosted by H.E. Ms. Penny
Wensley, Permanent Representative of Australia for the Chairpersons
of Regional Groups. The discussion focused on the preparations
for the upcoming General Assembly special session on HIV/AIDS.
Mrs. Toraya Obaid, Executive Director of the United Nations
Population Fund (UNFPA) paid a courtesy call to the President.
H.E. Mr. Dejan Sahovic, Permanent Representative of the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia also paid a courtesy call to the President.
Their discussions touched upon the situation in the Balkans.
Later in the day the President attended a reception on the
occasion of the National Day of Bangladesh, hosted by H.E.
Mr. Anwarul Karim Chowdury, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh.
