The President issued a message to the World Meteorological Organization on World Meteorological Day, which is observed today. In his message Mr. Holkeri noted that voluntary cooperation is the corner stone of meteorological and hydrological information flow worldwide. He congratulated the World Meteorological Organization for their timely theme for this year's day "Volunteers for Weather, Climate and Water" and noted that the theme also reinforces the message of the International Year of Volunteers 2001.The full text of his message is available on the "Statements and Messages" page".
