Mr. Holkeri today presided over the meeting of the open-ended Working Group on Security Council reform. The discussion on Cluster II issues continued today. The Secretariat briefed the Working Group on the record keeping practices of the informal consultations of the whole in the Security Council.

The President met with H.E. Mr. Jagdish Koonjul, Permanent Representative of Mauritius to discuss the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) Summit, which was held in Zambia last week. Development issues in Africa were also touched upon during their meeting.

H.E. Mr. Milos Alcalay, Permanent Representative of Venezuela, paid a courtesy call to the President. The work of the Open-ended Working Group on Security Council reform was discussed among other things during their meeting.
