The President today presided over an open-ended informal meeting of the plenary on the question of revitalization of the General Assembly. Prior to the meeting Mr. Holkeri had met with the facilitator of the revitalization process, Ambassador J. Gabriel Valdés of Chile, to discuss issues related to today’s meeting.

The President today attended a meeting of the Council of the Presidents of the General Assembly. Following the meeting Mr. Holkeri attended a luncheon on the occasion of the meeting of the Council.

Mr. Holkeri met today with Mr. Santiago Romero-Perez, Director of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Liaison Office with the United Nations. They discussed, among other issues, the status of IPU in the General Assembly.
