The Open-ended Working Group on Security Council reform met today with Mr. Holkeri presiding over its third meeting. The focus on the meeting was on discussing the veto as a voting instrument on the Council' s work. In his opening remarks, the President noted that while there has been some progress and improvements in the working methods of the Security Council, a lot still remains to be accomplished. The President added that he hopes to count on the active participation and willingness by the membership to move forward on the issue.
