The President today conducted the General Assembly elections for 5 non-permanent members of the Security Council to replace outgoing members Argentina, Canada, Malaysia, Namibia and Netherlands.
The countries elected: Colombia, Ireland, Mauritius, Norway and Singapore, will have a two-year term of office starting 1 January 2000.
