The President continued presiding over the Habitat special session during its last day. He also met, in connection with the special session, inter alia with Executive Director of United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat) Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, Ambassador Wehbe of Syrian Arab Republic and Ambassador Asadi of Islamic Republic of Iran.

In between the meetings Mr. Holkeri hosted a luncheon for the President of the Security Council for the month of June, H.E. Mr. Anwarul Karim Chowdhury and the Vice-President of ECOSOC, H.E. Mr. Ivan Simonovic and for their respective secretariats. Also in attendance was the Assistant-Secretary-General at the Department for Political Affairs, Mr. Danilo Turk. The discussion focused on issues of common interest, such as the forthcoming Prevention Report and follow-up to the Millennium Summit.

The President also today met with Ambassador Ingolfsson of Iceland and Ambassador de Saram of Sri Lanka, the two vice-chairpersons for Working Group on Security Council Reform. Issues related to next week's meetings of the working group were discussed during their meeting.
