The President today met with the acting Minister for Foreign
Affairs of Lesotho, H.E. Mr. Sephiri Motanyane. The President
also met with Prime Minister of Lesotho, H.E. Mr. Mosisili.
Among issues discussed in both meetings were the upcoming
elections in Lesotho. Mr. Holkeri congratulated the country's
leadership on having reached the necessary agreements for
general elections to go forward.
The President also paid a courtesy call to His Majesty King
Letsie III of Lesotho.
Mr. Holkeri visited the Parliament of Lesotho. In his address
to the Parliament the President focused on development issues
and noted that since development has been one of the key themes
of his Presidency, the visit to Lesotho holds special value

In connection with the upcoming elections in Lesotho, the
President also met with Co-Chairs of the Interim Political
Authority (IPA) and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
Mr. Holkeri also met with local representatives of United
Nations Agencies.
At the end of the day, the President attended a reception
in his honour, hosted by H.E. Mr. Sephiri Motanyane, Acting
Minister for Foreign affairs. The President remarks at the
