The President attended a luncheon in connection with the ongoing World Conference against Racism, hosted by H.E. Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

During the day, in the margins of the World Conference, the President met with a number of Heads of Delegations. He also had an working meeting with H.E. Mr. Thabane, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lesotho, during which the President's upcoming visit to Lesotho was discussed.

The President also met with Ms. Miranda Vuolasranta, Secretary General of the Advisory Board of Romani Affairs from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in Finland. During their meeting issues related to the Roma people in Europe were discussed.

Later in the day Mr. Holkeri attended a dinner, also in connection to the Conference, hosted by the President of South Africa, H.E. Mr. Thabo Mbeki.
