On 30 May, on the eve of the High-Level Meeting on AIDS, UNAIDS Special Representative Naomi Watts (left) is interviewed in the North Garden at UNHQ. UNAIDS Executive Director Peter Piot is beside her. They were among the UN staff members holding open red umbrellas to form the AIDS ribbon in the Garden. The red ribbon is the universal symbol of AIDS awareness. Ms. Watts is wearing a red T-shirt with the slogan “Uniting the world against AIDS.”
