Agencies pledge support for Habitat Agenda
All agencies working with the United Nations Centre for
Human Settlements UNCHS (Habitat) have expressed their interest
to work with Habitat to ensure the success of the shelter

The organizations made this commitment on June 4, 2001,
in New York, U.S.A., during an interagency meeting organized
by Habitat.
The discussion focused on organizational arrangements of
the Special Session, the Draft Declaration on Cities and
other Human Settlements, and the Report of the Executive
Director of Habitat, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, on the review
and appraisal of progress made in the implementation of
the Habitat Agenda.
The
agencies include the International Labor Organization (ILO),
International Monetary Fund (IMF), United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP),
and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Others are United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), World
Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, United Nations Economic
Commission for Africa (UN-ECA), United Nations Economic
Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC),
