Habitat
Professionals Forum events planned for June 2001 in New
York
On
each of the three days of the special session, the Habitat
Professionals Forum will convene lunchtime discussions to
exchange professional views concerning key aspects of the
Habitat Agenda. Each session will feature one resource person
who will be asked to make a brief presentation; an active
discussion with all participants will follow.

Discussion
of the relationship between the global campaigns for secure
tenure and good governance and Finance for Development (FfD).
Michael Cohen, Director of the Graduate Program in International
Affairs at the New School University in New York and a Visiting
Fellow at the International Center for Advanced Studies
at NYU will make a brief presentation, following by a discussion
with all participants facilitated by Louise Nyström (invited)
Director of the Swedish Urban Environment Council and Bureau
Member of IFHP.

Forum plans a reception on the evening of Tuesday, June
5. All those who have registered to attend the lunchtime
discussions will be invited, as will members of country
delegations and others concerned with the implementation
of the Habitat Agenda.
