Habitat Professionals Forum events planned for June 2001 in New York

On each of the three days of the special session, the Habitat Professionals Forum will convene lunchtime discussions to exchange professional views concerning key aspects of the Habitat Agenda. Each session will feature one resource person who will be asked to make a brief presentation; an active discussion with all participants will follow.

Discussion of the Global Campaign for Secure Tenure. Prof. Ian Williamson, Department of Geomatics, at the University of Melbourne and Director of the FIG/UN Liaison will provide a brief presentation, followed by a discussion with all participants facilitated by Irene Wiese - von Ofen, President of the International Federation of Housing and Planning (IFHP) and Chair of the Steering Committee, Habitat Professionals Forum.

The Forum plans a reception on the evening of Tuesday, June 5. All those who have registered to attend the lunchtime discussions will be invited, as will members of country delegations and others concerned with the implementation of the Habitat Agenda.
