Programme Budget for the Biennium 2006-2007 |

At its sixtieth session, the General Assembly in its resolution 60/247 A paragraph 3, sets out the budget for the biennium 2006-2007 in the amount of 3,799 million dollars. Expected expenditure in the course of 2006 is 1,899 million dollars. The two year budget will permit a f8ull assessment on all Member States for 2006, in accordance with Article 17 of the Charter of the United Nations. The Secretary-General, whle adhering to the existing procedures regarding the annual assessment on Member States, ios authorited to enter into expenditure of a first tranche, limited to 950million dollars, as an exceptional measures. The General Assembly, in order to ensure the availability of resources for programme deliverty, will act in response to a request from the Secretary General, at an appropriate time, for expenditure of the remaining funds. (resolution 60/274 A-C).
In its resolution S/2006/175, the Security Council decided to exend the mandate of UNAMA, for additional 12 months from the date of adoption of the Security council resolution, namely, 21 March 2006.

Capital Master Plan |

At its fifty-ninth session, the General Assembly decided to revert to the issue of an audit in 2005 of Master Plan.
A its resumed fifty-ninth session, in June 2005, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the Assembly at the main part of its sixtieth session on all aspects of the capital master plan (resolution 59/295 & Dec 59/551 D)
During the main part of its sixtieth session, the General Assembly decided to revert, as a matter of priority, to the issue of the capital master plan at the first part of itsr esumed sixtieth session, in March 2006. (resolution 60/248).
At its resumed sixtieth session, in March 2006, the General Assembly, in its resolution 60/256, para 8 , decided to revert, as a matter of priority, to the consideration of the reports on the capital master plan during the second part of its resumed sixtieth session. |
