Election of 14 judges of the International Criminal
Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
19 November 2004
The General Assembly elected the following 14 judges for
four-year terms beginning on 17 November 2005: Carmel
A. Agius (Malta); Jean-Claude Antonetti (France); Iain
Bonomy (United Kingdom); O-gon Kwon (Republic of Korea);
Liu Daqun (China); Theodor Meron (United States); Bakone
Melema Moloto (South Africa); Alphonsus Martinus Maria
Orie (Netherlands); Kevin Horace Parker (Australia); Fausto
Pocar (Italy); Patrick Lipton Robinson (Jamaica); Wolfgang
Schomburg (Germany); Mohamed Shahabuddeen (Guyana); and
Christine Van den Wyngaert (Belgium).
Election of members of the Committee for Programme
and Coordination
8 November 2004
The General Assembly elected the following seven States
for a three-year term of office, beginning on 1 January
2005: Algeria, China, Ghana, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya and
the Republic of Korea.

Appointment of members of the Committee on Contributions

The General Assembly appointed the following persons as
members of the Committee on Contributions for a three-year
term of office beginning on 1 January 2005: Mr. David
Dutton (Australia), Mr. Paul Ekorong a Dong (Cameroon),
Mr. Bernardo Greiver del Hoyo (Uruguay), Mr. Hassan Mohammed
Hassan (Nigeria), Mr. Eduardo Héctor Iglesias (Argentina)
and Mr. Eduardo Manuel da Fonseca Fernandes Ramos (Portugal).
The General Assembly appointed Mr. Vyacheslav Anatolievich
Logutov (Russian Federation) as a member of the Committee
on Contributions for a term of office beginning on 1 January
2005 and ending on 31 December 2005.
Confirmation of the appointment of members of the Investments
Committee
8 December 2004
The General Assembly confirmed the appointment by the
Secretary-General of the following persons as members
of the Investments Committee for a three-year term of
office beginning on 1 January 2005: Mr. William McDonough
(United States of America), Ms. Hélène Ploix
(France) and Mr. Jürgen Reimnitz (Germany).
The General Assembly confirmed the appointment by the
Secretary-General of Mr. Khaya Ngqula (South Africa) as
a member of the Investments Committee for a term of office
beginning in December 2004 and expiring on 31 December
2006.
Appointment of members of the United Nations Administrative
Tribunal
8 December 2004
The General Assembly appointed the following persons as
members of the the United Nations Administrative Tribunal
for a four-year term of office beginning on 1 January
2005: Mr. Goh Joon Seng (Singapore), Mr. Spyridon Flogaitis
(Greece) and Ms. Brigitte Stern (France).
Appointment of members of the Advisory Committee on
Administrative and Budgetary questions

The General Assembly appointed the following persons
as members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative
and Budgetary questions for a three-year term of office
beginning on 1 January 2005: Mr. Ronald Elkhuizen (Netherlands),
Mr. Jorge Flores Callejas (Honduras), Mr. Jerry Kramer
(Canada), Ms. Sun Minqin (China), Mr. Rajat Saha (India)
and Mr. Jun Yamazaki (Japan).
Appointments of one Member of the Joint Inspection
Unit (JIU)
8 November 2004
The Assembly proposed four countries as candidates to
fill four vacancies, arising on 31 December 2005. The
selected States, France, Hungary, Senegal and Turkey,
are requested to propose a candidate for appointment to
