On Monday, 26 October 1998, the General Assembly elected Benin, China,
Egypt, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Uruguay members of the Committee
for Programme and Coordination for a three-year term of office beginning
on 1 January 1999.
Two remaining vacancies will be filled at a later date.
