UNITED NATIONS VOLUNTEERS (UNV)

UNV is a major UN operational unit for the execution of youth programmes, emphasizing the participation of youth in development. A wide range of specific projects are undertaken worldwide through the services of UNV Specialists and Field Workers. These are designed to support leadership training for youth workers and trainers at different levels of responsibility, practical skill training for youth, capacity-building of youth NGOs and community-based organizations, and development of income-generating initiatives for youth and self-employment. Youth Partners in Development, a multilateral exchange programme providing young people with opportunities to participate in development work, is coordinated by UNV.
