UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME (UNEP)

UNEP is involved in a number of activities aimed at youth through its network of youth environmental groups worldwide. UNEP convenes biennially a Global Youth Forum on the Environment. To strengthen the capacity of youth for community-based environmental action and to help young people to develop joint environmental strategies, UNEP organizes Regional Youth Forums on the Environment. In addition, it organizes training seminars for young journalists to promote the coverage of environmental issues. UNEP also publishes Young Action for the Future, an information booklet on the best practices of youth environmental activities. UNEP has appointed Regional Youth Advisors to assist its regional offices in formulating youth strategies.
