15 Years of the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, its Causes and Consequences [1994-2009]
A high-level event with representatives from the UN, governments and civil society, organized by the Office of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, its Causes and Consequences, the Office of the UN Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The panel will take stock of the achievements of 15 years of work of the Special Rapporteur and highlight some of the emerging issues and challenges.

MIKA
Mika - a play developed and performed by the theatre ensemble Tiyatroglobal, inspired by the UN Secretary-General’s call to Unite to End Violence against Women - seeks to demonstrate the diverse manifestations of violence against women and how we all can make a difference in creating a world where women are respected. The invitation-only event is organized by the Office of the UN Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women (OSAGI) and the Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality (IANWGE).
