Independent UN expert warns on sidelining right to water and sanitation
9 March 2012 - A United Nations independent expert warned today that the right to safe drinking water and sanitation could be sidelined at next week’s world water forum in France where delegates from 140 governments, international organizations, civil society and the scientific community are due to meet to discuss global challenges concerning water.

22 March 2011 - Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today urged governments to recognize that the water crisis facing many urban areas is the result of weak policies and poor management rather than scarcity, noting that the problem calls for increased investment in water and sanitation services.
