Staff Remember Victims of Bombing of UN Office in Baghdad
United Nations staff around the world today joined in ceremonies marking the second anniversary of the bombing of the UN office in Baghdad, Iraq. At UN Headquarters in New York, a wreath-laying ceremony, organized by the United Nations Staff Union, was held in remembrance of the deadly detonation which resulted in the death of 22 United Nations staff, including veteran UN diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello, visitors, and over 150 persons injured.
