ALL
IN PEACE Bringing
youth from different countries around the world together in an Olympic
spirit, all in peace, the non-competitive, educational alliance for
coexistence, communication and cultural exchange, has gathered the children
of conflict to cooperate in athletic festivals in New York. The 2004 Youth Say Yes to Peace, campaign will be launched on Friday July 16 via a photo exhibition that will run for six weeks at the headquarters of the United Nations. The campaign will call for a universal cease-fire during the Games. Given the opportunity to bridge gaps and promote peaceful coexistence, ICQ & AOL have joined together with All in Peace to create a dedicated community website and a free, multilingual communications channel for the young people participating in this campaign around the world. A discus, embedded with a CD, bearing all the peace messages posted on ICQ during the Throw a Discus For Peace campaign, will be presented to the Mayor of Athens at the closing of the summer Olympic Games. Two photographers Ohad Romano and Laura Harrington have captured the inner mood and outer expression of these young athletes who have come to these exciting festivals. Their pictures will be prominently displayed in this scintillating photo exhibition. All in Peace (formerly OlymPeace) works under the auspices of: The Special Dynamics Institute, dedicated to movement toward a new social dynamic, and The Institute of World Affairs (IWA), established in 1924 to promote international understanding. ICQ (AOL service), a world leading communications community with over 180 million registered users worldwide, and offering one of the most robust instant messaging, is sponsoring the international online campaign. The product is available for free at www.icq.com.
