28 January – 2 March Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority (Jerusalem) / Carl Lutz Foundation (Budapest) / Permanent Missions of Albania, Hungary and Switzerland to the UN. The Holocaust:  Stories of Rescue

A two-part exhibition on the theme of “rescue” during the Holocaust:

BESA – A Code of Honour:  an exhibit about Muslim Albanians who rescued Jews during World War II; Carl Lutz and the Legendary Glass House in Budapest :  an exhibit featuring the Swiss Vice-Consul in Budapest who helped save the lives of Jews during the Holocaust.

10 March – 13 April Permanent Mission of Turkey to the UN Cartoon Art for World Peace

An exhibition of award-winning cartoons by international artists who have participated in the “Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition” in Turkey.

14 March - 2 April Peace and Security Section of the United Nations Department of Public Information

“The African Union in Darfur”

The exhibition features a collection of photographs highlighting the work of the African Union Mission in the Sudan (AMIS) to contain the violence and improve security in Darfur during its three-and-a-half-year presence (April 2004 to December 2007).

Commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

A two-part exhibit consists of:

The Middle Passage:  White Ships/Black Cargo – an exhibit featuring 52 pen-and-ink and tempera drawings on rice paper by Tom Feelings;

Amistad – an exhibit depicting the story of the Amistad Incident of 1839 where captive slaves took over control of the schooner Amistad.

All Roads Film Project showcasing breakthrough film and still photography from indigenous and underrepresented minority cultures around the globe.
