Parliamentarian Forum on Energy Legislation for Sustainable Development, 5-7 October, 2005

DESA and the Parliament of South Africa convened the Parliamentarian Forum on Energy Legislation and Sustainable Development, from 5-7 October 2005, in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Forum brought together national legislators from Africa, and from outside the continent, to explore the challenge of energy provision and appropriate energy legislation. While the focus was on Africa, the Forum also presented an opportunity to share perspectives with parliamentarians from outside the region around the common theme of energy for sustainable development.
