Task Forces under the Marrakech Process
A Task Force is an informal group of countries and
organisations coordinated by a lead country that have decided to
work collaboratively on a specific issue of sustainable
consumption and production (SCP) committing themselves to
carrying out a concrete set of activities focused on
implementation.

To date, the following task forces have been created (lead

Sustainable Lifestyles (Sweden)
Main goal is to develop and support the implementation of
sustainable policies to change consumer behaviour and that of
youth to more sustainable lifestyles.

Sustainable Products (United Kingdom)
Main objective is to raise awareness of product policy as a
means of achieving international development and environmental
objectives, particularly through support for innovation on
product eco-design and performance.

Cooperation with Africa (Germany)
Main aim is to encourage and support African countries in the
integration of SCP in existing plans and programmes and in
developing national, sub-regional and regional action plans on
SCP that allow them to leapfrog to more sustainable patterns of
consumption and production while at the same time reducing
poverty.

Sustainable Procurement (Switzerland)
Main objective is to promote and support the implementation of
public procurement programmes that encourage the uptake of
sustainable products and services.

Sustainable Building and Construction (Finland)
Main aim is to develop local and national policies and
legislation to secure the sustainability of the construction,
use and maintenance of the built environment through policies
and legislation to promote energy efficiency, energy savings and
use of renewable energy in the built environment.

Sustainable Tourism (France)
Main objective is implementation of actions that promote
sustainable tourism focusing on how tourism relates to climate
change, biodiversity and protection of cultural and natural
heritage.

Education for Sustainable Consumption (Italy)
The objective is to achieve progress in introducing sustainable
