Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD)

High-level segments: Ministers participation in CSD sessions

(CSD-11 through CSD-15)

The following diagram shows that the trends of the participation of environment Ministers and other Ministers have been changing over the past three years. It seems that Ministers without the environment portfolio replaced the environment ministers at some sessions (notably the policy session).

Graph of ministerial participation at CSD

The numbers are based on the records of Ministers who delivered official statements during the High-level Segments of CSD sessions.  Not included in the total are ministerial-level participants attending CSD thematic discussions and parallel events.

These pie-charts show that there has been a well-balanced participation between Ministers with only environment in their portfolios, Ministers with environment as well as other sector/ line responsibilities, and Ministers who do not have environment in their portfolios.
